Tinker Bell B-Day Party

With all the craziness of work recently and well just being tired... Charlotte's birthday party was a last minute plan! Surprisingly, we still had pletny of friends and family who were able to make it for Charlotte's Tinker Bell Birthday Party! Charlotte loved all the toys, clothes (especially the dress up clothing), but mostly she just loved having everyone here. She asked for days where everyone went after the party and when would they come back! Thank you everyone for making this a special day for our Lil Miss Charlotte!

Charlotte turns 3!

Our big girl turned 3 years old! Pretty hard to believe! I really need to video tape her more because describing her with words hardly does her justice. She is loud, bouncy, dramatic, comedic, musical, beautiful, talkative, and giggly! Her speech has improved drastically over the past few months, but when she gets excited or is playing pretend, she reverts right back to light speed jabbering! She loves to sing songs like “Twinkle, Twinkle”, “ABC’s”, “I know You” (from Sleeping Beauty), “R-A-I-N-Y”, and “Jesus Loves Me”. She also makes up songs all the time- in fact a lot of her chattering is very sing-songy in nature! Some of her most common phrase are: “Good Job! You Did It!” “Oh, that’s so cute!” or “Oh, that’s so bunny (funny)!” She loves other kids, and seems to be excited about getting a baby sister. She has an amazing imagination; she loves to pretend she is a puppy. This pretend game consists of lots of barking, crawling around on her hands and knees and licking you for kisses. We have entered into the princess and tinkerbell phase- it is hard to keep her in her regular clothing, she would prefer to dress up as a fairy or a princess. Charlotte is an amazing little girl! I felt blessed the day she was born and I feel blessed every day to have her in our lives. Although at times I want to freeze time, I also cannot wait to see what she surprises us with this year! We love you Little Miss Charlotte! Love, Momma & Daddy

Matt's Birthday

Happy Birthday Honey! Sunday was Matt's 27th birthday. Look at that dedicated Daddy! (Ya know he is getting his hair pulled really hard in this photo! Saturday night, Sean and his friend Erica took us out to an Italian restaurant on 6th avenue... Il Fiasco I think was the name (I could look it up, but I am too tired- sorry!) We enjoyed a bottle of delicious red wine and the softest most delicious bread- oh yeah and the rest of the food was pretty good too. Thanks Sean for the fun night out!

Birthday Stats

Charlotte finally had her 1 year checkup... which of course I was dreading. Charlotte has had some bad reactions to those darn vaccines. I was of course ignored and treated like an overprotective mommy at first, but eventually after vaccinations in the fall that resulted in almost 103 fever, the nurse acknowledged that she may have an allergy to one of them. They decided that it must be the whooping cough vaccine, so we have eliminated it. But last Thursday she got the other vaccines and unfortunately had another tough time starting at about 2 a.m. Her fever was only 99.2 at 2:30 a.m. so we gave her tylenol, but surprisingly her fever increased over the next 2 hours to almost 102. Poor girl! She was miserable for a few days, but is ok now. So at one year our little girl weighs in at... 17 1/2 pounds (3%) 27 inches (8%)

1 Year Old

April 21, 2008 How did the year go by so fast? My little tiny 4 ½ pound baby is walking, talking (well chattering), laughing, and singing! Right now because the walking is still new, she walks with her hands in the air, often above her head. She talks usually the whole way, so it’s not hard to figure out where she is. She loves chasing Lola and giggles when she gets close. I am pretty sure she understands a lot of what we say even though she is not verbalizing it herself. I will often get a shaking hand and head saying , “no, no, no” when I tell her we need to leave grandma’s for instance. But when I mention that we can go home to see Lola, she quickly stops all the no shaking and takes my hand to leave. She also kicks with excitement in her high chair when I ask if she wants cheese or cookies. It is just amazing watching her little brain work. If we say, “Charlotte, where are mommy’s eyes?” she will point to our eyes. The same goes for a few other body parts. She loves singing “Head-Shoulders-Knees-&Toes along with patty-cake and the Itsy-bitsy Spider! She still thoroughly enjoys watching Disney Sing-Along Videos and has started watching Sesame Street now too. At Auntie Erin’s and Great Grandma and Grandpa Kelsey’s she watches the Mickey Mouse clubhouse… oh to see the excitement that opening song brings her! She brings so much joy to our lives in so many ways! From watching her grow and learn… to rubbing her feet and legs and cheeks just the way she likes it! It is truly a miracle that she is here and I can’t imagine life without her!
